I've raised £550 to help Eddie get a special needs buggy.

Eddie is my second son who is 2 years old, he was born with a chromosome disorder - 1p36 deletion syndrome. He was born small and weak with very little suck reflex and started having seizures.
I spent a long time knowing that something wasn't quite right but it wasnt until he was a year and a half that a genetic blood test revealed the cause of his problems. His diagnosis means that he is developmentally delayed and as he gets older he will have moderate to severe learning disabilities. He also has epilepsy and low muscle tone. He is non verbal and like most children with 1p36 will likely not talk more than a few words, if at all. It has been a period fraught with stress and anxiety, isolation and exhausting hospital stays.
Despite his ailments Eddie is an incredibly happy young boy who has 3 main joys in his life, Hey Duggee, fish, and his nanny!
Eddie cannot walk but is working hard towards it. Like many children with delays and low muscle tone it is taking him much longer to achieve this, and when he does walk he will tire more easily than other children. Also his cognitive impairment will likely impair his ability to walk for any period of time (imagine a walking 10 month old on the school run - you'd never get there!). Eddie will need extended wheeled support beyond what is typical for normal children. This need is heightened because I do not drive.
The problems arises as Eddie gets older, his current buggy is already getting too small with his sheep skin support, Eddie needs a new buggy that will fit him now and in 2/3/4 years time.
Myself and my mum have committed to an amount equating to roughly a third of the price of the Special Tomato Jogger, a large and comfortable 3 wheeled stroller that will fit Eddies needs, and we would like to ask you to help us raise the remaining amount - as I pound the pavements of Hastings in preparation for the Hastings Half Marathon on the 18th March.
Thank you so, so much
Eddie and his family.
