In 2016 I began working with a lady whose mum had dementia. Although I didn't know her mum, I saw first hand what kind of impact that had on my friend day to day. The phone calls, the worry and the stress it placed upon her. It was so inspiring to see a person so determined to help her mum be as normal as possible; and remain so positive thoroughout.

Dementia is a horrific illness that robs people of the personalities and characteristics their loved ones know and love. It is an illness that has a profound impact not only on the sick person, but every single person who loves them dearly.

I have been fortunate that my family haven't suffered at the hands of this evil illness but I have also witnessed the heartache of those who have. Hopefully with every pound that is donated we can help with the research that is trying to defeat this illness once and for all!
