As you may have seen in the north-east press, 13-year-old Edie Smart tragically lost her life this summer off the coast of Whitley Bay. She was a very special young lady and is missed by so many people every day. The response from our local community continues to be overwhelming, her story touching people far and wide.

Edie was a member of Whitley Bay Football Club, where her Father continues to coach. In her memory, Whitley Bay FC and local rivals Whitley Bay Sporting Club are coming together to host The Edie Smart Cup on 1st November in Whitley Bay. We are looking for as much support and donation as possible to make this event a success.
