Once upon a time there was a little girl whose dad died & her mom could no longer look after her and had to leave her at an Orphanage...That little girl was my mom!
But, this is a happy story I would like to share with you. Yes tragic strikes where least expected. It was difficult time with difficult decisions. My mom was left at the orphanage when she was about 7 years old. Mom was a very energetic child who climbed every tree in the neighborhood, even got struck by a lightning and lived to tell a tale. She also had big dreams. She wanted to travel; she wanted to see the sea and the mountains. This was just a dream for many children at that time. But not for my mom. She was so lucky to be in the Orphanage. Why? The institution took the children on excursions. They organised a summer trip to the seaside. Being at the seaside was truly a Dream Come True. Something she would have never been able to experience with her family as they had no money.
I could share more stories my mom told me, but let’s get to the point of my story. The same orphanage, Rada Vranjesevic is still based in our hometown. They are the only such Institution in Republika Srpska that looks after children & youth without parental care. Currently, they are looking after 92 children. The Orphanage provides the children with the essentials but also a nice warm, loving environment. We have met some fantastic & dedicated staff, full love & affection for those children. But they have very limited resources.
We want to raise funds to buy a bread cutter, nappies & baby creams, maybe some bed linen or imagine if Santa passed by their “home”.
Every penny you donate will go to them.
If you have children, grandchildren, nieces & nephews, younger brother & sister blessed to have you in their life because you love them & their Christmas tree will be swamped with presents. These kids are not so blessed.lets put a smile on another kid’s face - priceless.
