For almost 40 years, the Care Van has been out on Edinburgh's streets every single evening, rain or shine, 365 nights a year.

Run in partnership between Bethany Christian Trust and Edinburgh City Mission, the Care Van provides hot meals, warm drinks, clothing, toiletries, and (just as importantly) a listening ear and a moment of human kindness to people with nowhere else to turn.

Last year alone, the Care Van served over 13,000 meals to people in crisis, reaching around 60 people every night. Behind every cup of soup is a team of more than 600 volunteers from churches across Edinburgh and the Lothians, giving their time so that no one has to face the night alone.
