Last year I ran a very successful charity event that raised funds for a very close friend of mine Lauren who has been diagnosed with Elhers Danlos Syndrome (EDS).

EDS is a rare genetic disorder that causes the body's collagen (which is basically the glue to body) to be extremely weak and fragile. There are different types of EDS, which all present in different ways - from just having stretchy skin/hyper-mobile joints, to being severely disabled. There is no cure for EDS and very few doctors have heard of the condition, making it difficult for sufferers to get diagnosed.

With previous support from local businesses we were able to raise just over £1000 for Lauren, which enabled her to purchase the wheelchair and attachments she was in great need of. She has been so appreciative of all the support, however with her condition being life threatening, she requires continual admission to hospital and treatment. Unfortunately she now requires an oxygen machine to support her breathing, something which we may take for-granted. It is now that I am asking for your support.

I have been given an amazing opportunity to teach Bachata with my dance partner Rezi Ademi for salsa charity event on 9th November 2018. Rezi and I are going to be teaching a range of classes and my ladies styling Bachata team the Venenitas Newcastle will also be performing at the event to raise funds to support Lauren to face her daily struggles.
