Feed a child. Feed a school. Feed a community!

We invite all of our friends and family to consider partnering with us to raise £3,500 to purchase the land Joy of Christ School in Kayunga Uganda needs to grow the food to ensure that it continues to support the growing numbers of children in its care. If we can find 100 individuals or families to donate just £35 this Christmas, we will have met our target.

Why this school? My wife Jan and I met its founder, Pastor Elijah, when we first went to Uganda in 2013. Elijah and Naomi are linked to some good friends of ours, Medad and Connie Birungi who founded World Shine Ministries in Uganda under the auspices of a Scottish registered charity, World Shine Foundation. Indeed Medad and Connie are on the board of directors overseeing Elijah's school.

The school Medad and Connie founded in Rwentobo Uganda has grown from a handful of pupils in a near ruin of a building, to a thriving primary school that is transforming the entire community it serves. Though it is unashamedly christian in ethos and practice, it welcomes children from many local muslim families. Their heart is to model in the school the reality of the love of Christ to their community and neighbours. As such it has provided not only a high standard of education but practical benefits to the entire community: Fresh Water wells dug, a new health clinic, supplies of goats, chickens, mosquito nets to families of pupils, it is truly a school community with a vision to see an entire local community impacted.
