Story
After 10 years of visiting the area of Keko, Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania and becoming very friendly with locals, we became aware of the lack of education and day-to-day life skills available to them.
Children are educated from 7 - 11 years of age, after this age they take the 11+ exam. This is where the children are told if they are able to continue with their education or not. If they pass they CAN! but only if they have the money to do so. If not they are forced to enter the labour market.
When a piece of land became available it was decided to try to build an education centre, not just for children but also for community leaders from all over Tanzania to train them in caring for their communities.
