Story
Dear All,
I have been working to create a new rugby team with 2 schools in a remote part of Trinidad and Tobago. I have 20 kids really interested in the game and I need to raise enough money for transport, kit, water and food for the next 2 tournaments with both boys and girls teams.
The area I work is notorious for gang crime, murders, drugs and gambling. The rugby union here are trying to provide kids with another path and another social circle with positive experiences and role models. I am really passionate about giving kids opportunities and personal development through sport and am trying my best to raise the funds locally.
I am therefore trying to raise 700GBP which will go a long way in supporting us for the rest of the season. I have not got many photos of the kids but will upload so that you can all see our progress.
Our next rugby tournament is on the 19th May of which the kids will get an opportunity to watch the national men's vs Bermuda. Later on in the year we will take the team to the local Youth Detention Centre so they can learn from a different aspect of life in Trinidad.
Hope you can help but understand if you cannot.
All the best,
Edward Young
