I've raised £1000 to #keepAudrinadancing in support of funding 4 year old Audrina’s pioneering treatment in the USA to ensure a cancer free future

Effie and Seth’s schoolfriend Audrina is facing the battle of her life, aged just four years. Here is her story:
My name is Audrina and I am 4 years old! I have High risk neuroblastoma and have been battling this disease since July 2018! So far I have had 5 rounds of chemo and surgery to remove my tumour.I will have high dose chemo therapy and a stem cell transplant in the new year, followed by radiotherapy and immunotherapy. Even with all this intense treatment children with high risk neuroblastoma have a very high risk of relapse with more than 50% of tumours returning. When relapse occurs there is only a 1 in 10 chance of survival.
Audrina’s family and friends are all coming together to fundraise for specialist treatment in the US that helps prevent relapse called DFMO. DFMO has already saved hundreds of childrens lives by preventing recurrent disease. It is not funded by the NHS so will cost an estimared £200000 as it is only available in the USA. It is imperative Audrina receives this treatment to ensure her cancer does not return and she can finally get back to living a normal life and have the childhood that has so cruelly been denied.
Effie and Seth would both like to do their bit to help raise money for Audrina’s treatment. Seth has decided he would like to do a triathlon. In July, he will run 500m , bike 3 miles and swim 150m.Effie couldn’t decide which of the three challenges she thought about that she liked best so has picked all three (!). She will also do a triathlon running 2 miles, biking 5 miles and swimming 500m. She will do the XRunner obstacle course run on April 6th as well as complete the national two peaks challenge (Ben Nevis and Snowdon) in the summer holidays. Inspired by these amazing little people, I will also be dusting off my running shoes and signing up for the Birmingham half marathon in October. These challenges will be tough but nowhere near the challenge that is faced by Audrina. We really want to help Audrina get this treatment so she can just be a kid again with no worries or daily pain and suffering. if you have a spare couple of pounds please consider sponsoring the kids (and mummy!) and helping them to help this amazing little girl x
