Story
The Matt Ratana Rugby Foundation (a fund within The Atlas Foundation, UK registered charity number 1161179): To continue the Head Coach's rugby initiatives that were close to his heart.
On Friday 25 September, Matt Ratana, Head Coach of East Grinstead RFC and a Police Sergeant in the Metropolitan Police, was tragically killed whilst on duty.
Since then, Su and East Grinstead RFC have been contacted by many people wishing to make a donation towards projects that were close to Matt's heart.
In response to this, Su and friends are establishing a fund within a charitable foundation (The Atlas Foundation is a UK registered charity number 1161179) and also a Just Giving page to raise funds and continue with the great rugby projects that were close to Matt's heart. Su's first decision was to name the foundations fund;
"The Matt Ratana Rugby Foundation"
Matt was a truly inspiring and much-loved figure. He will never be forgotten and his rugby legacy will live on with us.

The first initiative we will be looking into setting up was one of Matt's big dreams; a young player exchange program with the southern hemisphere. As details emerge we update you but for now please leave your messages of support, comments and suggestions below? We're curious to hear your opinions on this and any suggestions. Please keep sharing so we can make these dreams a reality. Kia Kaha

4 years agoMatt's partner Su, is delighted with all the support that you've all shown. She's over the moon to be creating the foundation in Matt's memory which will continue, create and oversee the projects that were close to Matt's heart. Su's first big decision was to name the foundation and she's decided to call it 'Matt Ratana Rugby Foundation'. Please continue to share and support. (Photo courtesy of the Met Police)
