The Helensburgh lifeboat station has looked after the Gareloch and Clyde throughout the covid pandemic as well as the years and years beforehand. Having had such a tough year with covid and some pretty awful callouts, I continue to be so thankful for the efforts they commit voluntarily and the time and situations they put themselves in to save peoples lives. For the second year in a row their annual fundraiser, the new years swim, has been cancelled. And therefore also for the second year I have decided to do my own new year’s swim to raise money for this amazing cause.
