Story

In July 2019 a group from Forest School, will be flying off to Ecuador and the Galapagos, in a once in a lifetime opportunity to see a world completely different from our own. But we need your help!

As part of the expedition,we will be helping a local tribe in the Amazon Basin. Currently, much of the local community's usual income is derived from harvesting wood from the surrounding environment, which is not sustainable in the future. However, we will be joining in a project for sustainable income through the development and construction of "Eco-Hotels" in which the local tribe exhibit their culture and heritage to tourists. This will create a new source of income, and preserve a unique culture in a world where there is increasing pressure to destroy the environment in order to thrive.

We will also be gaining valuable life skills whilst travelling in Ecuador, such as leadership - each day a new person will take charge of the group in the trek, - perseverance - we will have to overcome many challenges and difficulties - and social skills - we will need to work efficiently with local tribes and members of our own team, to ensure that our project is successful - .

Finally, we will be visiting the world renowned Galapagos islands; a stunning display of fantastical creatures, and a chance to see one of the few locations in the world untouched by humans.

We hope that you will donate to the trip ...
