Story
Dear all, I'm asking for your support for raising funds to create a garden for Queen Margaret Hospice patients and their families. It will help improve the quality of life of the patients and their loved ones. This is a community project led by a group of the QMH staff. The goal is to convert an unused corner of the courtyard into something that would make a difference to the most challenging time of people's lives.
The volunteers have done a great jobs fundraising, securing 2/3 of needed funding, having a design project done. The design has specific needs of the patients in mind, and is as accessible and thought-through as emotionally uplifting. Now it's the last £10,000 that need to be raised to allow work to go ahead, and if this happen soon enough, the works could be completed in October. Please read more about the initiative and its impact here http://www.dunfermlinepress.com/news/16205342.VIDEO__Help_us_build_a_garden_at_Queen_Margaret_hospice/
I am attempting to run a half-Marathon in Edinburgh on 27th May. I say "attempting" because as many of you know I got a trauma last year that took me out of running for a year, and made walking challenging to for a while. I will do what I can, running, walking, or even ending up on a swipe bus - either way, I'll cover the distance. Plenty of fear and challenges along the way, no doubt :)
I will be very grateful if you can spare what you can to support the cause I'm looking to help.
Many, many thanks.
Kat
