I've raised £185 to Help Support One Mans Rescue

As a conservationist and animal rights campaigner, I'm lending my support to David Reid's One Mans Rescue campaign -- to help turn this campaign into a film.
David Reid a positive reinforcement dog trainer in Cyprus working with both adopted pets and dogs waiting in rescues. As a child he empathized with dogs, even taking his pet to a trainer but in those days the training was rough and after just one lesson he refused to take the dog back.
His feelings for dogs run deep so, like most people involved with rescue, when he sees a dog in need he can’t turn away.
No one outside, or even inside rescue, truly understands what it means for a dog in a rescue environment so David decided to create a project to highlight what they experience in a pound or shelter. This project is ONE MANS RESCUE.
For one week he lived the life of a rescue dog at a local pound in Aradippou, Larnaca, Cyprus, sharing a cage with senior or special needs dogs looking for homes, eating when they eat, sleeping when they sleep, sleeping where they sleep, being let out when they get to go out. He had no comforts such as TV or a bed and only had a phone in case of emergency to speak with kennel staff and to speak at pre-regulated times with collaborator Anna Georghallides for the daily updates that were recorded for the project blog. He had a video to record the entire stay and his observations and emotions which will be released as an official video at the end of the project.
It’s important that people understand that dogs need homes; this will only happen with the help and understanding of people such as yourselves who are following the project. Old dogs are especially vulnerable as they are ignored because of their age. Please promote ONE MANS RESCUE and the dogs that will be highlighted.
‘My goal is to help people understand the plight of rescue dogs in rescue accommodation.’ – David Reid
