Mavis Perks was a retired nurse and believed in walking and staying active in old age. She attended 'BreatheHappy' club in Droitwich which is a walking club for people with chronic lung conditions. She encouraged lots of disabled, frail and elderly people to attend Breathehappy, even though she herself was almost blind and walked with a frame. Mavis used to walk into Droitwich town centre every day and was a well known resident of the town. She adored Lido park and often used to sit and enjoy the outdoor space. She sadly passed away during the winter of 2017 at the age of 91 but sadly has no local family. We would like to purchase a bench with a plaque on in her memory to place in the lIdo park so that people in the walking group are able to take a rest and remember Mavis and her zeal for life. We need to raise £940 - please help us to do this..
