Story

On Sunday 26th June we will be taking part in a challenging upper body boot camp and a 5k walk. This will take place at Dalkeith School campus, 9:30-10:30 with Alan & Scott, followed by a walk/run along the cycle path to Whitecraig and back. Weather permitting a picnic lunch once completed.
We are hoping to raise funds to help Scott achieve his dream of getting prosthetic blade's. A summary below of what Scott and his family have been through. These blade's will be a huge support to Scott in his physical recovery and also his mental health coping with these life changing disabilities. He deserves all the support he can get and his fitness pal's would love to see him in the class with blade's on.

Scott was blue lighted into hospital on 7th Feb 2020 with meningococcal septicaemia, his family where told he wouldn’t make it through the night. He spent 11 nights in a coma fighting for his life, when he woke up he then faced the next battle the disease had taken about 60% of his skin, which needed skin grafts and the lack of blood to his fingers and toes also meant he faced below the knee and 8 fingers amputations. Scott was in hospital for a total of 7 months, 5 of this during covid with no visitors.
Scott is a coach at Midlothian boxing gym and his passion for boxing and exercise before his illness inspired and motivated others. Scott is desperate to get back some of his fitness that he had before and having blades would mean he could run as he did before and start his new fitness regime. Any support in helping this would be much appreciated.
