Iʼve raised £750 to JUSTICE FOR JESS - Raising money for Great Western Air Ambulance and Sepsis UK in memory of my beautiful partner Jess

Funded on Wednesday, 1st May 2019

    Story

My beautiful partner Jess sadly passed away on 23rd August 2017. When she was taken to hospital she was showing signs of Sepsis but there were also other symptoms involved. Sepsis is now becoming more of a killer in this country than breast cancer. 44,000 people died last year and yet people seem so unaware how serious this condition is.

I now plan to continue to raise money for the Great Western Air Ambulance and Sepsis UK. I have set up a memorial website in Jess's memory that tells our story and with information about both charities. purplelove-amemorialtojess.co.uk

There is no easy way to put this so am just going to make the following comment. I was very very lucky to have had the opportunity to meet and have a relationship with the beautiful Jess Wootten, pictured on the right. She was a truly amazing young woman, 29 years old, with a heart of gold and I loved her deeply. I feel like my heart has been ripped out but I am glad that I was able to make her happy for the short time we did have together. Jess will always be my partner as I could never love anyone else she was too special to me.

I hope you can help with these fantastic causes I know its what she would have wanted and I thank you for your time and attention in reading this. Most importantly love each other with your hearts and souls because you never know what is around the corner

Today GWAAC officially took up the tenancy and moved in to the new hangar at Almondsbury! This is a monumental day for everyone at the charity. At present we have a 10 year tenancy agreement, which means we could be asked to move again. We’re now nearly half way to our target of £1.25 million. They've also been offered an amazing opportunity from a local trust, who said if raise another £315,000 they will match it with a donation of £315,000. That means that if you are able to spare a contribution towards our urgent appeal it could be doubled!

Today has seen the Great Western Air Ambulance start the move to their brand new state of the art base in Almondsbury. They are still fundraising to buy the base so that the service can be secure for many years to come. So many lives have been saved by this brilliant team and long may they continue to make a difference to peoples lives. So please help me raise money so they can #BUYOURBASE

I want to help this cause because it seems that sepsis can overtake anyone with a health problem and that problem becomes overwhelming and takes over the patient. It's very scary.

I am Jess's partner and to say the least am devastated at the loss of her at such a young age. The Ambulance Service were absolutely brilliant and did everything they could for 50 minutes to try and save her and I cannot thank them enough. So this donation is in her memory
