What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Story

My beautiful partner Jess sadly passed away on 23rd August 2017. When she was taken to hospital she was showing signs of Sepsis but there were also other symptoms involved. Sepsis is now becoming more of a killer in this country than breast cancer. 44,000 people died last year and yet people seem so unaware how serious this condition is.

I now plan to continue to raise money for the Great Western Air Ambulance and Sepsis UK. I have set up a memorial website in Jess's memory that tells our story and with information about both charities. purplelove-amemorialtojess.co.uk

There is no easy way to put this so am just going to make the following comment. I was very very lucky to have had the opportunity to meet and have a relationship with the beautiful Jess Wootten, pictured on the right. She was a truly amazing young woman, 29 years old, with a heart of gold and I loved her deeply. I feel like my heart has been ripped out but I am glad that I was able to make her happy for the short time we did have together. Jess will always be my partner as I could never love anyone else she was too special to me.

I hope you can help with these fantastic causes I know its what she would have wanted and I thank you for your time and attention in reading this. Most importantly love each other with your hearts and souls because you never know what is around the corner

The inquest into Jess's death took place on Monday 4th June 2018 and the enclosed link is the report that was written by James Wood. He has been very thorough and it is very well written. I felt that it would be good to share this so that people can have the opportunity to see the full story behind the tragedy. https://www.somersetlive.co.uk/news/somerset-news/woman-29-dies-just-hours-1640845 I am pushing on with making GWAAC and Sepsis UK the charities to donate to. Please help with this no matter how small the donation it all helps

I have created a memorial website for Jess and this shares not only our story but also information about Sepsis and GWAAC. I will be updating regularly to try and help others get the help and support that they need should they lose a loved one. The website address is purplelove-amemorialtojess.simplesite.com. As well as this crowdfunding page I have also set up a separate Just Giving page for Sepsis UK https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/jess-purpledreams and Great Western Air Ambulance https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/purplelove-jess

Seven months have now passed since Jess was cruelly taken from this world and life does not get any easier. I miss her terribly but am doing whatever I can to try and raise the awareness of Sepsis. This Silent Killer is taking far too many lives each year now and we have to make a difference sooner rather than later. We also need the talented medics that work on the Air Ambulances in this country. GWAAC have put together a brilliant team but they still need the help of the public to keep them flying each year. Please help to make a difference

I didn't know Jess in life and I'm sad that I have only come to know her because of her being taken too early. She was clearly a lovely person and she and you had so much love and life ahead of you

I am Jess's partner and to say the least am devastated at the loss of her at such a young age. The Ambulance Service were absolutely brilliant and did everything they could for 50 minutes to try and save her and I cannot thank them enough. So this donation is in her memory
