My name is Eleanor, and I have been in Girlguiding for 10 years. I have been selected to represent Girlguiding Leicestershire as part of the Girlguiding Midland region patrol travelling to Iceland in 2018.

Forty two girls from around the Midlands, are travelling to the Ulfljotsvatn Scout Centre- situated in the south of Iceland. We will be camping (in tents hired from the camp-site) from the 6th to the 13th August 2018. The trip is being organised through a company called Venture Abroad who run international excursions for Guides and Scouts.

This exciting adventure will cost approximately £1,500 (which will be used to cover flights, transfers in Iceland, food, tents, insurance, uniform, activities & excursions and emergency contingency). To fund-raise for this trip I am looking to: run stalls at local fêtes and Galas, sell tea, cakes and coffee at guiding events and coffee mornings, do various sponsored events such as a sponsored stay up or midnight walk, selling tickets for special curry and Bingo nights.
