Mitch is a full time carer of her mum Philomena who is in the later stages of advanced dementia with complex needs and Kidney disease. Mitch is an only child and has given up her business to look after her. She is the sole carer for her mother due to her mums difficulty in accepting other carers.

Due to the complexity of the disease, Mitch can be up during the night, in addition to caring for her mum during the day. Mitch has completely given up everything to care for her mother and they both find it difficult to leave the house. The garden is a much needed sanctuary for both her mother and Mitch herself.

However, the garden is completely overgrown with a particularly troublesome tree blocking out the light and its roots are breaking up the ground as well as her neighbors, which is causing a real trip hazard for everyone.

They have resulted into not using the garden at all which is really limiting for Mitch and her Mother's quality of life. Mitch has limited financial means as she is unable to work and relies on her carer’s allowance, which is a limited amount of income.

Mitch and Philomena need to raise money to pay for a tree surgeon to enable them both to enjoy the garden safely.
