We’re raising funds to bring our beloved sister and aunty Pat back home to the UK — and we need your help to make it happen.

A few years ago, Pat and her husband Bob retired to the peaceful countryside of France. But in October 2024, everything changed. Bob passed away suddenly, leaving Pat — who was already living with advanced dementia — vulnerable and alone in a foreign country.

With no immediate family nearby, French social services had no choice but to place Pat in a care home. While they did what they could in an emergency, we know in our hearts that Pat needs to be with the people who love her — in a place where she can hear familiar voices and feel the comfort of home.

After months of navigating red tape and international bureaucracy, we finally have the green light: a court has ruled that Pat can be medically repatriated to the UK. This is the news we’ve been waiting and hoping for.

But now we face one last hurdle — the cost.

To bring Pat home safely, she’ll need a specialist road ambulance accompanied by a medical professional. The journey will ensure she is safe, cared for, and comfortable every step of the way. The total cost: around £8000.
