Story

Our son/brother Elijah is 9 and has Spina Bifida. This means that the signals from his spine don't work very well and his legs aren't very strong. He uses a wheelchair but can also use a walker. He needs lots of physiotherapy to help. Although his mum is a physio and can guide what happens, he doesn't like having physio from his her. This year, Elijah has had surgery to correct an instability in his hip and will have further surgery in the future. It will be really hard work for Elijah to regain the strength in his muscles following surgery and we would love to raise some money to help pay for extra physio and for the specialised equipment he needs. We haven't raised any money for Elijah since he was 2, but this is a critical year for keeping him on his feet as many children with his condition stop walking altogether at this age.

So, this year, each of us is doing an event to raise some money for Elijah's therapy and equipment. Hannah is first with a mini Triathlon on 17th of September. Jo and I will also do something challenging - as yet to be decided!

Thank you for helping us on our journey in helping Elijah be the best he can be!
