Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised
In July 2017 I am going to the Living Hope School and Orphanage in Kampala, Uganda, with my school. My school has had a link with this school since 2007, and this will be the fifth trip out there. There we will help out with building new infrastructure and furniture for the school, and also help with teaching lessons, aided by the stationery and textbooks that we will take out there. This will help them with their exams, and hopefully enable them to get better jobs in the future, and boost incomes in the community. The work we will undertake will not just be beneficial to the school, but also for the surrounding area. For example, on the last trip they covered over an open sewer around the edge of the site, both to prevent children from playing in it, and also to help reduce the spread of disease in the community. Our aim is also to make the things we do sustainable, such as by purchasing land and seeds for them to grow and harvest crops yearly, instead of just buying food for them for the short period of time that we are there. The money we each raise will help us to do as much as possible whilst out there; therefore each donation, however big or small, is greatly appreciated. Thank you :)
