I am closing my Just Giving page having raised just over £2000 for the SLCC's new education charity designed to support and encourage training, education and research in the sector. I want to thank everyone who has helped me both on my really valuable travels around the country and in reaching my target. It is massively appreciated. It has taken me seven months, but I have now visited 64 of the 67 students who started the Community Governance courses this year. I cannot tell you how much I have enjoyed those 64 visits to different and unexpected corners of England and Wales. I really do appreciate everyone for giving me such a wonderful year. I am on the road again - this time to the south east. I have visited two students in Sussex and three in Kent over the last two days. Tomorrow I am in Surrey and Oxfordshire on my way home after three days away by which time I will have visited 43 students in total. I am delighted that the Staffordshire branch of the Society has donated £100. I wonder if other branches might consider this - the cause is great for the sector.
