32% of children in Glasgow live in poverty, this is the highest rate across Scotland. A Barnardo’s UK survey in 2023 found as many as 6 per cent of children said they were sleeping on the floor due to not having a bed of their own in the past 12 months. This equates to 1 child in every classroom sleeping on the floor.

Sleep is a basic need for everyone. It plays such an important role in helping our brains and bodies recover from everything we did that day. According to the NHS Cambridgeshire Community Services lack of sleep can contribute to increased behaviour difficulties, reduced concentration, and irritability.

Sleep is especially important for children and young people because it helps with mental, physical, social and emotional development.

Elite started off manufacturing beds 70 years ago and has supplied a wide range of customer across Scotland. To mark our 70th anniversary we want to give back to the community who have been our life blood. With your help we want to raise enough money to help 70 children across Scotland get their own bed. Each bed costs £100 and Elite will cover the logistics, delivery and installation. There is no need to donate £100 and we welcome all donations of any amount, all of which are greatly appreciated.
