Story

James Kirby, 47, from Bristol, was one of three British aid workers killed in the attack on Monday. In total, seven World Central Kitchen (WCK) workers died. James was part of WCK's security team, travelling with a convoy that had just unloaded more than 100 tonnes of much-needed food aid brought from overseas. All three vehicles in the convoy were hit by an Israeli air strike while leaving a warehouse in Deir al-Balah, south of Gaza City.

I know we’re not alone in our feelings of grief and I can’t even begin to put myself in his mum, Jacqui’s shoes.

We would love to show Jacqui how much we care in a practical way and want to use this as a place for you to direct your messages of support and condolences.

The purpose of this money is for Jacqui to spend however she sees fit; be it a charitable donation of her choice or something in James’ memory. Above all i just want her to know how much we care and that she has the whole world behind her right now.

To think there are 6 more sets of family and friends going through this is utterly devastating and our thoughts are with them.

I personally would like to say thank you to you Jacqui….. you had one job Jacqui Kirby!…. And you absolutely smashed it - You raised the most beautiful, irreplaceable human being 🤍

Kirbs you have left a hole in our lives that I don’t even think we realise the gravity of yet. I hope you knew how special you were. We want to scream to the world how amazingly smart, clever, funny, brave, strong and kind you were. I want to ensure they know your name and that you’re not just a number, you’re the most incredible person. Until we meet again, peace out big nose ✌🏻
