Story

Ever since the jungle was destroyed, Calais refugees are rarely heard of. However the dangers for them are still real. After volunteering with them this year, I would like to be able to give them more.

They are human beings that everyday are scared of French police beating them, stealing their tents and clothing. Nobody should have to face this fear everyday, including children. I would like to donate some money to help refugees who at the moment are in need of many items to keep refugees warm. Including sleeping bags, tents and jackets. They also provide a school bus project which is a safe space for children.

It is worrying that their resources are so low as winter is soon approaching and many will be unable to stay warm. These items are a real requirement.

Around £500 of the money will be put towards me going back to Calais and volunteering for a few months in the winter. This is the time when there’s a shortage of volunteers.

Thank you all for reading this and helping me make a stand. The media may of forgotten about them but we certainly haven’t.
