Story

Ella is 3 years old and has Retinoblastoma we are setting up a fundraising page to help take the financial burden off Helen and Matthew.

Helen took Ella to the opticians when they noticed something was wrong with Ella’s eye. Specsavers reffered her straight to the Royal Gwent Hospital where she then was sent to Birmingham Children's Hospital, at which point Ella was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma in both of her eyes.

Retinoblastoma is a type of eye cancer that affects young children, mainly under the age of six.

Around 50-60 cases are diagnosed in the UK every year – approximately one child a week.

Ella had to have her left eye removed and now has a prosthetic.

Her right eye is receiving regular laser therapy which is slowly shrinking the tumour. She receives this treatment at Birmingham Children's Hospital.

Ella is also having 6 cycles of chemotherapy at Noah's Ark Children's Hospital, Cardiff.

In addition, Ella will also need to receive Proton Beam Radiotherapy which is only available outside of the UK.

They will be travelling to Essen, Germany and staying for approximately 6 weeks to receive daily treatment.

Ella‘s parents' first priority is caring for and supporting their little girl.

The money raised from this page is intended to take some of the financial worries away from the family, providing them with the funds to travel to and stay in Birmingham every month, fund their 6 week stay in Germany and all costs associated, along with helping them to provide Ella with additional care as well as everything she needs to keep her daily routines consistent.

Every penny will be put to good use to help and support Helen, Matthew and Ella.

Matthew and Helen are extremely grateful to everyone who has donated their hard earned cash. Whether it be 5p or £5, every penny will help them, to help Ella.

Thank you xxx
