Story

Did you know that in many remote communities around the world women and girls are discriminated against because of their periods? In some remote Nepalese communities girls and women are sent away to ‘period huts’ because they are believed to become unclean when menstruating.

Stylist: Meet the heroic teens battling period taboos in Nepal

Next Summer 12 girls (including me) and 3 leaders will be travelling to Nepal with Girl Guiding NWE to trek to schools, helping to develop and to teach them about the menstrual cycle in an effort to break the taboo. For the trip each of us has to fundraise £2200, this money will fund our transport, insurance, kit, living expenses and food.

I really appreciate the opportunity for my own personal experience, and to make a difference to support young women like myself and education in an area not as priveliged as we are in the UK.

Thank-you for taking the time to visit my page and I appreciate any help you can provide.
