    Story

On 1st October 2017 a group of play workers, children, and supporters of the Adur Special Needs Project are hosting a SPONSORED WALK in relays across the Adur Ferry Bridge in Shoreham-by-Sea. This will involve a Pirate-Themed walk and lots of activities such as face painting, guess the number of sweets in the jar, obstacles, and treasure chest prizes.

ASNP is a registered charity providing 20 weekend play schemes a year during school term times for children aged 5–15 years of age with special/additional needs and disabilities, Whilst the children are in our care they receive one-to-one support, themed sessions and a wide diversity of fun and stimulating activities. We also organise annual trips for the children to enjoy.

In order to keep delivering this service to our families and children, we make many applications for funding and grants from organisations such as BBC Children in Need, and more locally, the Sussex Community Foundation. As well as receiving funding from large grant givers, as a team we try to organise a number of in-house fundraising events each year so that we can continue delivering our important service. This year alone we have raised money by taking part in Brighton’s Color Obstacle Run, hosted a Quiz Night, and had stalls at the Lions’ Donkey Derby and the Worthing Children’s Parade.

We would now be hugely grateful for your support in our SPONSORED PIRATE WALK. You can make a difference by donating via this page, taking part in the walk and raising money through sponsorship, or just turning up on the day and participating in the activities on offer! We’ll be based for the event at the Waterside Public House, Shoreham Beach, between 11am and 1pm on Sunday 1st October 2017.
