I've been given the incredible opportunity to experience a three week expedition to Nicaragua, Central America after I complete my A-levels and before I go to university next year. I'll be going with a group of my friends and it will be an experience of a lifetime.

During the three weeks I will be doing some volunteering at a group focusing on children’s education in one small village on the outskirts of Granada, which helps over 2,000 children in poverty-stricken areas of the city. Their volunteers go out into the rural schools and assist the teachers, tutor young children, run sports programs, introduce children to computers, and help stimulate an interest in learning. There is little education funding in Nicaragua, so project work here makes a huge difference! I will be doing a combination of physical work like renovation, as well as spending time with the school children helping to teach basic English, crafts or games. I aim to make a difference and help as many people as possible!

Alongside this volunteer work, we will be going on cultural visits to learn more about what life is like out there and gain awesome life experiences. To experience the explosive, serene, colourful and ash covered landscapes of Nicaragua we are going on a 3-5 day trek to explore the mountains, volcanoes (inactive - dont fret!), lush jungles and beautiful landscapes. We will also go volcano boarding and find incredible views.

I am truly excited to be going on such an amazing trip but it does come at a cost which I have been steadily paying over the last year so as it comes closer and closer to my departure date I am asking for any sponsorship you can give me to get over the finish line!
