I've raised £1500 to volunteer for a wildlife conservation organisation in Peru! To help save endangered species and gain life changing skills and experience.

I am planning a trip to Peru for next summer to volunteer for a wildlife conservation organisation. I will be there for just over a month carrying out surveys, building biogardens, planting new trees (reforestation), educating the people in the area and finding new information on how we can help the endangered species of the amazon rainforest. I am currently a student of animal science and am working part time with a wildlife foundation. The trip will take place next summer to give me time to save and fundraise enough money to go!
The work that I will be taking part in is vital to the conservation of many species around the world. surveys and monitoring of the species (avian, amphibian, reptile and mammal) ensures we know how our conservation efforts are taking effect and if we can use new ideas to save other species as well. For example, amphibians are extremely sensitive to changes in the environment and climate. This makes them perfect for monitoring in areas of reforestation to see how they are dealing with the changes and to see if we need to find ways to improve what is there already. They can give us an idea of how well the areas are thriving or declining.
I will also be building biogardens for families who live in the area to provide them, with nutritious food and an extra income from surplus crops.
As well as all of the amazing benefits to the area when volunteering, this trip will also provide me with life changing experiences, knowledge and skills that I could not find in the UK. These skills will be hugely beneficial to me while I am studying and when I have graduated to further my career in the conservation industry.
Unfortunately volunteering is not cheap and I am looking at around £3000 for the whole trip including flights and equipment so any donations I will be extremely greatful for! thank you for taking the time to readmy just giving page and i thank you in advance.
