Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Over the last decade, Chorlton has become an affluent area and is known for being home to many artists, musicians and skilled professionals. It is time to bring residents’ professional skills and abilities to the benefit of the wider community.
The aim for 2018 is to have the online shop up and running, selling the art-n-craftwork of residents in and around the Chorlton area.
Have you ever gone and done a nice doodle and thought “Hey, that’s nice”?
Have you ever gone to a craft fair and seen a handmade card for £11.99 and thought, “Erm, I could definitely make a nicer card than that”?
If so, get in touch now to be featured on our site. We can’t wait to hear from you.
By 2019, the website will include a database of local community groups and an accompanying calendar. CH+ will work on an asset-based community development model (ABCD), aiming to provide support for existing community groups in aspects such as venue hire and social media/marketing support.
A ‘What would you like to see in your community?’ Contact form will enable CH+ to help individuals or groups evolve their interests into sustainable and self-led community ventures.
CH+ will run inclusive art and skills workshops on a ‘pay-what-you-feel’ model and organise fundraising events for local causes.
As we expand our volunteer base, we will organize a number of ad-hoc day trips, excursions and events for young people and adults.
Why the delay?
Hi, I’m Ellie. I am taking a year out of my MA in Social Work in order to have some major surgery, starting in September. The shop is something I can set up now and run comfortably whilst recovering, as well as planning and recruiting for the organisation so that it may take flight in early 2019.
Some funding is required to get the organisation off the ground and registered as a Community Interest Company – initially this will cover administrative costs of running the shop, and eventually will cover materials for workshops, marketing and recruitment, refunding volunteer expenses, and hopefully a small wage for yours truly. All financial expenses will be made publicly available on the website, quarterly.

About the fundraiser
I graduated in 2015 from Oxford University and am currently studying a part-time MA in Social Work. Unfortunately I have to take a year out due to ongoing disability and poor health. CH Plus is going to be my full time project after I have major surgery in September. Thank you.
