Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This crowdfunder has been set up to help raise funds for a residential trip to Egypt for 8 of our current year 11 students.
Haringey Learning Partnership is the alternative educational provision for the London Borough of Haringey. Our students, many of whom have complex learning needs, have had challenging experiences throughout their educational journeys, facing exclusion from mainstream settings that has negatively impacted their feelings of progress and success during their time in secondary education.
Our aim as a school is to provide our students with an alternative, not inferior, education that takes a holistic approach to each child, looking to develop them not only academically, but emotionally and socially, providing them with a wealth of enrichment opportunities that they might not otherwise have the chance to experience. We see this as a vital part of the curriculum, providing students with the opportunity to spend time with their peers and teachers outside of the classroom, improving their social and communication skills, as well as increasing their cultural capital and knowledge of the wider world around them. These experiences positively impact their experience of school and ultimately, their success at the end of their time with us.
Over the past 3 years, we’ve been fortunate enough, through generous donations, to take students on residential trips abroad to locations such as Paris, Barcelona and Berlin. This year, to celebrate their hard work in their GCSE exams and the end of their time in secondary education, we are planning to take 8 students to the Dahab region of Egypt, where they can learn more about the history and geography of the country by visiting sights such as Mount Sinai, the Coloured Canyon, the Red Sea and the city of Dahab.
So far, we have been able to raise £6,200 of the £10,000 needed to make this trip a reality. Any donation you can make, big or small, would make a huge difference to our students and this opportunity for them to celebrate everything they have achieved during their time at HLP.
Thank you so much for supporting our students.
