In the 2018 post-GCSE summer I will be travelling to Ecuador with Camps international. I will here contribute to various ethical projects with the local community, namely, helping to build a local school, and planting trees in the amazon as part of wildlife conservation.
Such an experience comes at a cost however of just under £4000.
Although the facts can be troubling it is something that needs to addressed: 25% of children in Ecuador have no access to education and are malnourished. In Ecuador I will be working to help build new classrooms and sanitary facilities as well as aiding environmental protection programs. An area the size of Spain is lost to deforestation in the Amazon every year and over 50% of rural communities are living below the poverty line. It's shocking this still goes on, and a concept I refuse to live with.
I would be greatly indebted you or anyone you know who offers me donations, they will hopefully give me the start in changing the world for the better- the tragedy that our fellow humans can have next to nothing whilst we live with so much.
