Story
I'm trying to raise £800 to fund my place on a trip to work with Cry in the Dark in Romania
As part of my leadership course I’m going to Luncani, a village in Romania on 1st June to work with a charity called Cry in the Dark at Casa Lumina.
For the past 20 years Cry in the Dark have provided food, shelter and education for children and young adults with special needs at Casa Lumina, which is a home for life for these children.
Each year, a group of Manor School students go to Romania for a week to support the work of Cry in the Dark. Everyone who goes, staff and students alike, have found it a life-changing experience.
For a week, myself and 14 friends will be running days with the children, going on trips with the nurses, helping with a building project for the community and much, much more.
Self funding my trip
To be able take my place I need to raise £800 to both self fund the trip and donate £100 to Cry in the Dark.
To try and fund my place I will be walking the Yorkshire three peaks - a 24 mile walk over three mountains, Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
At 6am on the 6th May I'm going to attempt the challenge, climbing (hopefully) 1,585 metres along the way. The aim is to complete the 24 miles in under 12 hours!
I’ve been training hard to get ready for the challenge but need your help to sponsor this journey so I may take a more meaningful one to Romania.
