    Story

Hi, my name is Ellie and I am a student at St Bede's Inter-Church School, Cambridge, where this 'once in a life-time opportunity' came about.
We were informed about this incredible experience for 6 students to travel to Kenya to volunteer/teach at a school (as part of the Nakuru Children's Project) as well as a chance to find out about their culture.
I believe I was selected for this trip largely due to the true passion and interest I took into the opportunity to make a difference to these children's education and lives in general. I was completely overwhelmed and grateful when I found I was chosen and I am determined to prove they made the correct decision. If there has been a theme to my life so far, it would be that I have always grabbed opportunities with both hands.
The money I raise is not only going towards the travel costs and accommodation, but also to further help the children. I would do this by contributing to help feed the children, build a new classroom or support a child going to secondary school. Also, when I travel there at Easter, I will take resources to help teach and as a donation for the school itself. However, the extent to which I do this is all down to the amount raised! The more money raised, the more action I can take!
I have always been passionate when it comes to reaching out to the wider community and trying to make a difference to those less fortunate as us.
Through spending time with the children (in and out of lessons), I will have the privilege to get to know them personally and inspire them to recognise their own self importance and potential, to aim big for the future.
My main fundraising will be through a sponsored day cycle ride which I will be completing in March with the other 5 students (friends).
I thank you very much for reading my story and I would be immensely grateful if you donated to this cause. I promise that all the monies raised will contribute towards improving the children's' educational opportunities.

Thank you to all those friends and family who have already given generously towards my Kenya trip. I raised £330 on my previous crowdfunding page and I am now trying to reach my target of £600 by raising another £300 on this second page. Thank you!! :)
