Story
My friend, Jodie Louise Harper sadly passed away on the 26th June of this year after a 4 year battle with Leukemia. Jodie was a strong, loving, caring and very determined lady who in her passing left behind her partner, Zeke, Aunty Tracey, Sister, Georgia and lots of other family and friends from different walks of her short life.
Jodie had a heart of gold and would always go out her way to help anyone. Anyone who knew her would describe her as a selfless person who even through such a difficult and scary time managed to keep a smile on her face and stay hopeful.
During her illness, Jodie was in remission twice, she spent a lot of time on Toghill which is a Haematology cancer ward at Nottingham City Hospital where she underwent various treatments and therapies.
Jodie became very fond of the staff and built quite a strong bond with the nurses. She had often mentioned that it would be nice if the ward had more funding to make improvements such as providing televisions and WiFi for patients who are expected to be on the ward for long periods of time.
One of Jodies last wishes had been for any donations made in memory of her to go to Toghill Ward.
Any donation big or small would be very much appreciated.
