Story
This is our lovely daughter Ellie. She is 16 and a very intelligent young lady who is an extremely talented musician. Sadly for the last 7 years she has been suffering with severe pain and discomfort, she has recently been diagnosed with a condition called joint hypermobility syndrome, and also Raynauds phenomenon. The joint hypermobility or EDS type 3, results in all of her joints being in constant pain from her jaw to her toes. Her muscles are so weak, she barely has to move to cause her joints to click out of position, which is extremely painful and can take hours to rectify. She also suffers with fatigue, which makes it even more difficult to even leave her room.
She has just completed her GCSE's and has studied extremely hard throughout, and is now looking to do her A levels, and hopefully go on to university. But as her illness stands, it is going to be very difficult for her to even get to and from college. She has begun a treatment of hydrotherapy at the hospital, but this is only a short 6-8 week course, so she is going to need ongoing treatment. She spends time in the bath almost every day as it help alleviate the pain, so we have decided to try and upgrade it to a special hydrotherapy bath with additional features which will help to massage and strengthen her muscles while relieving the pain on her joints.
As well as this she needs to carry out regular physio exercises in our local swimming pool, this will ensure she can get the necessary exercise for her muscles to help control her joints better.
As this will be an ongoing requirement throughout her life, its going to be a constant financial strain, on top of additional cost for transport etc. we decided to set up this funding page to help, and ask please give what you can, thank you

My girlfriend is also a talented musician with EDS who was in a very similar situation to you. She is now going into second year of her degree and loving it. Don't let ANYONE tell you that you can't!
