Mental Health therapy is oversubscribed by a huge margin and for many, too difficult to access through the NHS. The longer the wait, the worse the problem becomes. The merry-go-round of doctors referrals, signposting, layers of triage, assessments and lack of ownership means therapy is rarely delivered. Meanwhile the months and years go by and the problem festers, often lost in the system and in the worst case resulting in someone taking their own life, just like Elliott. Sadly statistics show almost one suicide a week in Kent.

The Elliott Holmes Memorial Fund has partnered with 10 local BACP counsellors (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) to fund and provide fast, direct access to mental health counselling for young people aged 13-18, living in Gravesham.

We fund up to 12 sessions per young person, at an average cost of £50 a session.

We raise money through a variety of events throughout the year. This fundraising page has been set up for individuals to make a donation if they cannot attend an event, or indeed, if you would just like to contribute to helping young people in our community.
