I've raised £250 to help Penlee Lifeboat Station, with Elliott's "re-learning" to walk mission!

Hi, I'm Elliott! I'm 9 years old and I have brain cancer. My cancer is called a medulloblastoma, and I have been having treatment since July 2020.
In July 2020, I had emergency surgery to drain the fluid off my brain, and in August 2020, I had most of my tumour removed (more on this later!), I then had 6 weeks intensive treatment with chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and am now coming to the end of my maintenance chemotherapy plan.
When I had my second surgery, I developed a condition called posterior fossa syndrome, this meant I was essentially locked in my body, I couldn't walk, talk, sit up, stand up or even move my eyes! I have been going through, what they call, neurological rehabilitation, with the hope that I will live an independent life again, but I've still a long way to go!
I'm learning to walk again now, with the help of a walker and I thought it would be a great idea to do a sponsored walk for my heroes at Penlee Lifeboat Station! I'm planning on walking from the old Penzance Lifeboat Station to the new Penlee Lifeboat Station at the end of May. I have ataxia in my limbs, so it might be a slow and steady attempt, but I'm really keen to give it a go!
I've donated £3 of my pocket money every month, for as long as I can remember to Penlee Lifeboat, and have always enjoyed tracking their rescues.
I hope this will be a success and I'm excited to get started, and get training!
