Story
These expeditions produce a large number of publications in peer-reviewed journals each year – over 300 so far – almost all of which had data collected by teams of volunteers. It has also led to the discovery of 37 new species. Independent funding enables large temporal and spatial biodiversity and socio-economic datasets to be produced and provide information to help with organising effective conservation management programmes. The work done on these expeditions help keep track of wildlife numbers such as the rare scarab beetle and many species of birds. This work is very important and is handled at government level. Without your fundraising this expedition will not be able to happen, and we will be unable to work alongside these great scientists and academic researchers.
