Story
Last year my Dad and I did a Table Tennis 500-point Challenge. The idea was to keep active, have fun, and give a little bit back by raising money for the frontline staff tackling the issues surrounding the Coronavirus pandemic. We raised a total of £540 which was split between charities working against the virus in both UK and Cyprus.
Following on from my charity match last year, I was challenged to a match by my GCSE PE teacher, Mr Charis Ioannou.
My school, Aspire Private British School challenged me on my return to school this year and they promised to double their initial donation off £50 if i beat Mr Charis. However, they have now increased that donation to match the whole amount i raised last year, a staggering £540 if i beat Mr Charis! So no pressure then! Haha!
Mrs Sharon Hadjiyiakoumi, Head teacher at Aspire commented "This is a great example of how young people, despite going rhrough a difficult time themselves during the Covid crisis, can do something positive, get active and help others all at the same time!"
If you would like to make a donation to the cause; it would be very much appreciated by everyone involved.
The match between Ellis & Mr Charis will take place on Thursday 15th April 2021 at Aspire School.
