We are trying to raise money to help with after care, home adaption and rehabilitation for Elora Jones, who on the morning of her first birthday woke up with her head tilted to one side. This ended up being a brain tumor the size of an orange. An MRI scan confirmed it was a rare type of cancer called Epemdymoma which only effects 1% of children. Unfortunately it was malignant and had already spread to the nerves in her brain. Doctors at St Georges hosptal performed a 10+ hour operation to save her which her chances of surviving where very slim. Elora being the tough little baby she is survived the operation and has since gone through several more operations. She had a tracheotomy in her throat which allows her to breath, also a feeding tube in her stomach. She is now receiving radiotherapy and is still fighting. Elora's parents have been living with her in hospital for over 4 months now, with a predicted time of another 6 months of therapy and rehabilitation.They have not been home or able to maintain a living since Elora needs 24hr care, their time in hospital has cost them alot of money as well as paying bills as normal and providing for their other young daughter. Their home is not suitable for the care and the long road ahead for Elora.They where reluctant to ask for help despite being in such desperate need of it. So we are raising money to help them adapt their home and provide it with the space and facilities elora needs to have the best quality of life this little fighter deserves. they cannot get 24/7 care from the NHS so they may need private nursing for her and they do not have the time to raise money needed as Elora must be under constant watch, so they will not be able to work as they once did.
