Thank you for visiting this fundraising page for the family of little Elsie Gascoigne. We are aware that another fundraising page has been set up which is intended to help with funeral expenses. This one is to support the family going forward with any additional expenses they are likely to incur as they try to heal over the coming weeks and months. This fundraising page has been authorised by Elsie’s mum, Kerry.

If you are reading this you may be aware that on Friday 3rd January 2025, little Elsie, along with her father, Jamie, were involved in a serious road traffic accident just outside Metheringham. Elsie sustained very serious injuries in this accident and passed away in hospital a few hours later. She was only just 7 years old. Elsie was a bubbly, fun loving little girl who lit up the room with her beautiful smile. She was very kind and caring, enjoyed school and loved playing with her friends. It is impossible to summarise, in a few words, the shining light that was Elsie.

Elsie leaves her dad, Jamie, who is still in hospital, and siblings Caiden and Tayleah. Her mum, Kerry, may be more familiar to you as the face of ‘Shugs Sweets’. What you may not know about Kerry is that she gives generously to our village and our community. Recently, for example, she made sure that just before Christmas every single child at Metheringham Primary School and Metheringham Pre-school was given a free gift of Christmas sweets. She also co-organised the Christmas 2024 Village Shoe Box Appeal which provides elderly and vulnerable members of the community with gifts to open on Christmas morning. There are many examples where Kerry has supported and given selflessly to our community, now she needs our help. Donations may help towards topping up funeral expenses but we are also thinking of the longer term needs of the family.
