I'm raising money on behalf of my friend Eman, who lives in Egypt and has been abandoned by her healthcare system. She would like to have a consultation with the best thoracic surgeon in the UK, Mr Francesco Di Chiara, this will be £300.

I have known Eman for a few years now and she is really suffering with her Thoracic endometriosis symptoms. She has previously had a botched surgery which has caused further complications, leaving her with worsening symptoms like breathlessness, chronic infections, purulent sputum, extreme chronic pain & inflammation and fibrosis of the lung.

Eman just wants to have a quality of life now as she has been suffering for far too long, she is unable to live her life fully and at this point no medication is helping her with her pain and symptoms, she has also exhausted all options with specialists in Egypt. She lives alone and has no financial help and does not have a fundraising option in Egypt. Eman has requested that help her in raising money and paying for her consultation in the UK straight to Dr Di Chiara due to the issues with sending funds from Egypt to the UK banks. She will also be charged huge amounts of interest in Euros.

In order for Eman to move forward, a professional in this field needs to give her an idea of exactly what is going on including ordering her more scans or tests. From there, Eman will be able to decide if she is able to have surgery with Dr Di Chiara. If he does suggest surgery then she will once again need help with further funding as she would need to travel to the UK to see Dr Di Chiara.

I talk with Eman often and I really feel helpless seeing her live in agony each day. The only thing I can do for her is raising funds for her and I really hope that strangers will show her some kindness and help her ease this burden.
