Embrace the Crazy was founded 5 years ago to help cope with the recent loss of my dad to cancer. Embrace the Crazy is all about doing something with my body I really should be doing. From skydives to climbing mountains. We want to celebrate year 5 in a big way with not 1 event, not 2, not even 3, nor 4 but 5 events!!! From the Race for Life, a 5k Pretty Muddy obstacle course, a 5k zombie fun run to walks of at least 10k with the ramblers and possibly another sky dive.
Pretty easy to do for able bodied people however I am anything but. Disabled for 2.5 years and suffering from pain 24/7, every challenge is really that, a challenge. Not a breeze, not easy and during last year's challenge I was in so much pain I cried nearly every single step to the summit of Snowdon.

In April I sadly lost my amazing 2nd mum. Losing my own mum to cancer when I was 9 followed by my dad when I was 31 it is even harder to now lose the woman who brought us up, who loved us as our own, to the same illness. So for those reasons, CRUK will always form part of the Embrace the Crazy campaign.

This year 50% of the money raised will go to Hestia's Good Energy Club, a mental health physical activities project within the Kingston Borough.he overarching aim of the Good Energy Club is to improve each member’s wellbeing through increased participation in physical activity. Activities are varied, and includes activities such as yoga, pilates, Bodypump, circuit training, badminton, table tennis, tai chi, walking and football zumba. I have seen first hand the amazing work of the Good Energy Club and as the council continue to cut funding to this amazing project so I want to raise as much as possible to help support the amazing work done by the Good Energy Club.
