Story
Your donation will be matched £1 for £1 by Arts Council England's Catalyst Evolve programme. Carnivals around the country are really struggling, especially as Local Authority funding is reducing fast. East Midlands Caribbean Carnivals need the support of the general public to keep carnival ALIVE! Hundreds of volunteers offer thousands of hours to make carnival happen each year for the benefit of over 150,000 people.
The following will be supported with your donation:
REGIONAL YOUTH FORUM - F.O.C. (Future of Carnival) we will help 14 young people who represent the four carnivals to work with artists to unlock their ideas and influence carnival policy. A Chair will be appointed to be represented on the regional board. Your donations will pay for artist fees and help them to set up their own ideas on carnival day.
FOUR CARNIVALS: Derby Leicester, Nottingham and Northampton infrastructure costs
REGIONAL CARNIVAL INITIATIVES: King and Queen Show, Carnival Conference, Regional Magazine, UK Carnival Tour, Artist and Troupe support initiatives.
Your donation will help Caribbean Carnivals in Derby, Nottingham, Leicester and Northampton to THRIVE...not just SURVIVE!
