Weʼve raised £30 to help provide much needed equipment for 14 year old Storm. Take a look at her story to find out more about her...

Funded on Sunday, 4th November 2018

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

    Story

You might not have met, or even know Storm, but like myself, I am sure you will be compelled to help when you learn what she and her family have been through, how she has defied the odds she was given and what happiness she brings to the lives of those around her.

Storm was born with a rare genetic condition called Miller-Dieker Syndrome. in short, this means she has little mobility, limited communication and suffers from uncontrollable seizures. However, she is clearly a very happy, determined child who has shown that whatever the struggles she can smile through.

Take a look at this video to understand more about Storms story:

    https://youtu.be/k9fHAKZAIUU

In talking to Storms family I have learnt that it is not one single item that will help Storm, there are several things she needs or they would like for her to improve day to day living. Her mum is currently fundraising for an accessible garden, to allow Storm to enjoy being outdoors more. Other items on the list include a walker, fire exits and a motorised wheel chair. These items are expensive and would not be funded by the NHS, so your contribution would be a real help to this inspirational family.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my page. I hope that you will join me in this findraising effort.

Thank you to my close friends and family who supported this worthy cause I chose to raise money for. I am now closing my fundraising page and will be putting the monies raised both online and in cash together to give to Storms family.

All cakes and biscuits sold kick starting the fundraising with the sweet sum of £15! Not bad, and we had great fun making them.

This Sunday is the Open Gardens event in Breaston. We will be baking cakes, scones and biscuits to kick start our fundraising for Storm. There will also be souvenir key rings for sale and a chance to join the prize sweepstake and guess my finish time for the Wilne 10K. Please come along - Open Gardens starts at 2pm, look out for us at the front of our garden on Draycott Road between 2pm and 4pm. If you can't make it keyrings will be available to order via my Facebook page or you can make a donation via my Just Giving page right now! Thank you
