40 Lives, 0 Alternatives: Emergency Appeal to Save Abri’s Dialysis Centre

In 2016, the community of Abri in Northern Sudan built a small dialysis centre from nothing. It was a labour of love, designed for 14 local patient

Then the war came.

As families fled the conflict, the patient count almost tripled to 40. Now, this small centre is the only lifeline for three entire regions—Abri, Halfa, and Dalgo. There is no "Plan B." For these 40 souls, there is nowhere else to go.

The Crisis

The centre is running on borrowed time. Regional conflict has driven fuel prices to unaffordable levels, and the aging machines have reached a point where they are no longer cost-effective to fix. Constant breakdowns mean repairs are as frequent as they are expensive, making urgent replacement the only sustainable solution.

Because of this, patients are being forced to ration their treatment to just once or twice a week. Missed dialysis causes dangerous toxin build‑up, risking heart failure and death. In this environment, it is not a slow decline; it is a sudden end.

Our Goal: £162,000 to Rebuild the Lifeline

Your contribution goes directly toward the equipment, transport, and installation of:

8 New Dialysis Machines & Chairs: (£13,000 for each one).

A Functioning Water Purification System: To ensure safe, continuous treatment (£55,000).

Logistical transportation (£3,000)

نداء عاجل لإنقاذ مركز غسيل الكلى في عبري- السودان

في عام 2016، أنشأ أهالي عبري في شمال السودان مركزًا صغيرًا لغسيل الكلى بجهد شعبي خالص يقدم خدمات مجانيه ، كان قبلها يسافر مرضي الكلي مئات الاميال للخرطوم و مدن اخري بحثاً عن

غسيل الكلي.

ساعد المركز في تخفيف معاناة المرضي و ذويهم و ظل يعمل بكفاءة .

و بعد اندلاع الحرب في أبريل 2023

نزح الناس من نيران الحرب و استقرت كثير من العائلات في منطقة عبري و ما جاورها ، بذلك ازداد الضغط علي المركز و زاد عدد المرضى ثلاث مرات تقريبًا ليصل إلى اكثر 40 مريضًا.

هذا المركز الصغير هو شريان الحياة الوحيد لثلاث مناطق بأكملها: وادي حلفا ..عبري،، و دلقو...

الان يُعاني المركز من وضع حرج للغاية مع ازدياد الضغط ، وصلت الأجهزة القديمة إلى مرحلة لم يعد إصلاحها مجديًا اقتصاديًا.، الأعطال المتكررة تعني أن الإصلاحات متكررة ومكلفة، …

و لذلك، يُضطر المركز إلى تقليل جلسات الغسيل إلى مرة أو مرتين فقط في الأسبوع …يؤدي تفويت جلسات غسيل الكلى إلى تراكم السموم بشكل خطير، مما يزيد معاناة المرضي و يُعرّض حياتهم للخطر.
